This was the piece that was a catalyst for the body of work at the show this past November. We got a chick at Easter who turned into a rooster. Her name was Aunt Mary and she would cock-a-doodle doo every single morning —sometimes as early as 4:30am. Needless to say this started to make me feel a bit nuts—then all day she would watch me through my studio window while I worked. I couldn’t help myself—roosters were coming out in everyone of my pieces and drawings no matter how much I attempted not to make a rooster—it just happened over and over and over. I will never be the same.
