These are images of some new tiles, these are all done using the same technique. None of these pieces were made by a mold, the form is built from slabs, when the clay is still wet the black line image is incised onto the surface using both an exacto knife and needle tool. After the clay has fully dried (usually takes 2 weeks) then it can be placed in the kiln for the bisque firing. After this, glaze is applied into to give it a rich, bright finish to catch the eye and really bring out the illustration. They are all made to hang on the wall easily. Due to their hollow form they are extremely light weight. I have sent all these tiles to If Art Gallery and intend to send any future similar pieces to this venue!!! Enjoy!
Love all the colors!! So creative and imaginative!
